About.

Xan is a formidable songwriter with impeccable vocal talents. Her work covers such wide subject areas and musical landscapes, she is acknowledged as ‘genre agnostic’. Xan boasts an ever-expanding list of stellar producers and artists looking to work with her both as a vocalist and a writer. Her latest album with dub and reggae legend Mad Professor sees her working with him for a second time (the first time was as lead singer with Mission Control on their trailblazing album Dub Showcase featuring guest vocals from none other than Lee Scratch Perry). Their album Clarion Call is available now on Ariwa Sounds – click HERE to purchase. If that isn’t enough she is writing another EP with musician and producer David Liddell on their project Glasshouse. These follow the huge success of her 2020 collaboration with Kramer on their globally acclaimed album Songs We Sang In Our Dreams (LET IT COME DOWN – Joyful Noise Records / Shimmy Disc).

Since her beginnings as a teenage backing singer for South London’s risqué cult band Death Bang Party Xan has had an eclectic musical journey. Her big break was with Creation Records when she was signed to front electro pop duo Technique, produced by heavyweights Stephen Hague (New Order) and Owen Morris (Oasis). After touring the world with Creation she was signed to legendary dance label Positiva where Xan paired up with German electronic titans Timo Maas and Martin Buttrich for Orinoko.

Xan’s powerful and evocative songwriting is no more apparent than in her last two solo EPs, ‘Into the Blue’ and ‘Golden Hues’. These are available in her store along with her other work.
